But something out there’s messing with me, a strange dose of reality. I had some things I had to do today. I had some things my head got in the way. I thought a drive might make it okay. I thought a drive would take it all away.

Last week, I went to a exhibition here in São Paulo called “Let’s Rock”. It is the largest exhibition ever held on the Rock in Latin America. Four floors full of bands - from materials such as clothing collections of King Elvis Presley, the Beatles’ singles, concert setlist to the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed in Brazil - instruments, videos, music, etc., and the main exhibition: photos of recognized American photographer, Bob Gruen, taken from various rock stars and bands throughout his career.

The most post detailed about it is on the blog (made with my college friends): desalienando (post in Portuguese).

Hey guys, long time that I don’t post, huh?
A couple posts ago, I said I was sad because I wouldn’t’ go to Lollapalooza Brazil. However, of last minute my friend needed a person to go with her. Then, I went on second day, on Sunday. Yay!

The structure was so immense. There were five stages with a lot of brazilian and foreign bands. Unfortunately, I couldn’t watch all those shows, but I saw a few like:
Gogol Bordello - these guys are insane, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQN2gPC1YVQ
Black Drawing Chalks - they are from Brazil. They remind me a ex band of Chuck Hypollito (VJ from MTV Brazil), for singing in English. Great band. Brazil’s rock is not dead.
Foster The People - Since they came to VMA 2011, brazilians have started to love this indie pop style. I was so close of stage when they played. In my own opinion, I don’t think Mark Foster sings so well like other singers. But his voice is just ‘ok’.
Arctic Monkeys - The the attraction of the night! Oh my God, they are so fuckin* good. British know how make indie bands. They are so young and are like veterans (I mean, to be the main band and have a legion of fans). The Monkeys played in Brazil in 2007 in other festival, and since then, didn’t come to here.

I’ve lost two concerts that I really wanted to watch, but my friend is so fan of Arctic Monkeys, and I stayed with her in their stage to watch closely. The concerts were from Cascadura (band from Bahia, Brazil), and Skrillex (said was one of the best of night).
Other bands like MGMT, Jane’s Addiction, Killer On The Dancefloor played in the same day of Lolla. There are rumors of a next edition in 2013 in São Paulo. We hope so it’s true.
